Well well well. London definitely differs quite a lot from New York in the fashion weeks. And there are more amazing collections to be posted today, of course.
I want to start off by introducing the new Emilia Wickstead. Her stuff are feminine and wearable. But it's not one of those that only works with skinny people, I'd say. And her debut is incredible, unlike some others that takes a few seasons to mature. *cough cough. I'm looking at you Kanye.* The pleated skirt this season is definitely a big thing this season. And there are so many different feminine ways that Emilia shows us how to wear a nice pleated skirt/dress. It can be cute, formal, powerful, or scandalous. I like!
You know you like it when a designers actually have a central theme for a collection instead of spattering random ideas here and there. House of Holland is an excellent example in this. Colorful zigzags and houndstooth. Even though I do think of this collection quite spring-like, but we can all accept that we've seen a lot of collections using spring-y colors this season.
Intense blue, purple, and red on sheer/shiny fabrics would be an relatively accurate description of Christopher Kane this season. He is always dark and a little bit weird. His stuff are never exactly feminine due to the harsh edges and unique fabrics that he's been recently employing. It's cool.
Futuristic jewel Matthew Williamson! London is full of surprises this season...(probably because I never paid attention to LFW...) As you can see...I really like that sheer short-sleeved top paring up with everything - cocktail dress, working outfit, or a rather hipster one.
British people sure love different patterns. I'm not particularly impressed with Erdem this season (maybe it's because I'm visually tired of patterns today -.-) but the dresses do look very beautiful and would make create statement-making outfits in winter with contrasting outerwear and lots of jewelries.
And of course. The almighty Burberry had its show today! But I already had too many pictures on this post...I'll wait until the next. :)
