Joseph Altuzarra makes me want to wrap chic rugs around myself. His hot thigh-high slits march on this season but with a smarter and ultimately more colorful look. One second it screams vacation-ready (cue look 1) and then totally work appropriate in another (cue look 3 on Bette). He also beats the shit out of polar vortex with grid-y fur coat and rug dresses (OK, maybe not the naked legs, but you get the idea.) And that look in dead center is really a modern evening look for pants-loving ladies like me. The accessories are hot too. Bravo!

My favorite thing about Derek Lam is his subtlety. Everything is ever so timeless with cool vibes...My picks from the collection are the netty skirt mid top row, patchwork leather skirt left middle row, same patchwork on the clutch, brown suede pants top right, and THIS suit jacket. The airy dress would look perfect on Rumi as she already pointed out...

Keep the runway posts coming. Expect one post a day probably!Labels: runway

Celebrating the occasion of my ascendant to throne, I would like to present to you, power dressing by Hedi Slimane. As much as I enjoy being all chill and comfy in my daily outfits, I'd like to dress bada$$ occasionally too. I love this sleek Saint Laurent vision (though, androgyny has been going on for quite a while on the runway) for suit jackets with a slightly boxy, longer silhouette and the dinner jackets. I also need a mini with plenty of cool details like the one on the right. It could last ages and never be outdated because it's so timeless and edgy at the same time. Plus, if you haven't noticed, flats are in next season. Yet, I am still on my on-going quest to conquer heels because I'm short afterall and it's not like I'm going to grow 4 inches, in like, ever.
Oh, and major hair envy on both ladies. Happy Sunday. x
PS. I've actually been doing ACTUAL writing, but it's for school so I don't post them on here. Labels: runway

Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2014 Collection
It's Sunday, which means none of us is ready for Monday. I, at this precise moment, am thinking about a presentation tomorrow afternoon that I have yet a clue where to start. All I have is a 1936 exhibition catalog in hand and lots and lots of coffee. Back to the meaning of Sunday...Sunday is for comfy clothes and comfort food and that "looking like a caveman but I don't care" attitude. (Actually have to have some social interactions later this afternoon...damn it!) This is where Stella McCartney comes in. My favorite things from her are always the comfy modern urban track outfits. If you are looking for the refined-yet-relaxed look, seek no further! Meanwhile, I also really like her chic little airy feminine [insert more adjectives] dresses. But there's no time for that today.
Random fact, I persuaded my dad to get Stella by Stella McCartney por mi madre last Christmas. It was a hit. (We spent like 30 min at the back of Sephora, fgs.) This year, I recommended mom another designer fragrance. It just became her new signature scent. So...great success on my part! Can you guess which one it is?Labels: runway

Givenchy Spring Summer 2014 Collection by Riccardo Tisci
Forever a fan of Tisci's dark romanticism. I call this dress on the right my favorite look of the season. Flats are in this time which I'm glad about because my feet just can't take it. I have a whole lot of two-pic summaries of the biggest collections, maybe I'll post a few once in a while like this. Fall break for me starting tomorrow evening!
*For some reason, Kid Cudi's song is stuck in my head for eternity. It's great because its name actually works with this post.Labels: runway

I am aware of what I need, to the extent of Kanye knowing his "reputation", whatever that means.

In celebration of Frank Ocean's 6 Grammy nominations in major categories last night, here's a lead single (I think?) from his mixtape nostalgia, ULTRA. I believe this is a censored version but the censoring is done pretty bad so it's not that bad. :P If you know what I mean. He also talks about a girl that want to be a dentist in this song!!!! If you noticed other song of the days, you probably know how much I love Frank Ocean...I listen to channel ORANGE daily.
This is my favorite Chanel show in a while...even though Chanel shows are always great. Again, this show was held at another awesome venue - in Linlithgow Palace right outside of Edinburgh castle in Scotland. There bagpipers outside of the venue and everything. Here I tried to narrow down my favorites to about less than a third of this massive collection.
Are you guys feeling the Scottish vibe?
